Cheap Date Detour

I normally just post here about the dates that Eddie and I are going on this year, hence the blog title “52 Weeks, 52 Dates”, however, I wanted to take just a moment to post about something a little different.

The holiday season is practically upon us!  Last year was Eddie and my first married Christmas together.  We wanted to have some cute holiday cards to send out that included our picture.  Luckily, I was invited to a House Party hosted by Shutterfly last November and received a coupon code for a dozen free holiday photo cards.  We ordered them and sent them out to our families, and they were a big hit, receiving lots of compliments.  One thing that’s really great about Shutterfly cards is that there are literally HUNDREDS to choose from!  It’s hard to narrow the choice down to just one!  You can see all of their holiday designs for yourself  here!

Last year we did the folding cards, but this year I’m thinking we might go with a standard flat photo card.  These are some of my favorites:

I'm a sucker for polka dots & love the modern look of this card!

I like how the orientation of this card is long, and of course snowflakes are my favorite!

This one also had a modern feel to it and I really liked the contrast with the red on blue!

Like I said, they literally have HUNDREDS of designs, so it’s hard to narrow it down to just one!  These are some of my favorites, but maybe you’ll find something else you like on  Shutterfly’s Photo Card page.

Not only do they have a great choice of holiday cards, but they’ve got really cute gift tags too!  See for yourself!

Love the bright colors!

I’ve never personally ordered gift tags from Shutterfly, but have had a great experience with them for last year’s holiday cards, as well as several photo books.  Their selection of products is great, and no matter when you order, there always seems to be some kind of discount code you can apply to your order to save money (sometimes for completely free items!).

Shutterfly is also graciously giving bloggers 50 free photo cards if they fill out this form and agree to blog about what holiday cards you would get this year.  (And just to clarify, I will receive 50 free cards myself for blogging, but all opinions stated here are 100% true–I love their products & think you will too!)

What are some of your favorite designs?  Leave your favorites in a comment, or even better, your own blog post (just be sure to comment so I can check out your post too!).

OMG I know what I’m doing for Haiku Saturday lolololol! I wonder how crazy they’d lemme go with my “promotion” and still get the 50 cards? ;D

I really do like Shutterfly photo cards though! I’ve used them in the past for photo cards of my baby girl and they turned out pretty rad. 🙂

Cool- I just filled out the form and hope to be blogging soon about my holiday cards. I already started to make them last week on Shutterfly anyway, so it was perfect timing!

Just to clarify, you have to sign up via the link to the form I listed, but then wait for an email reply with instructions about what must be included in your post. In that email they’ll also tell you how to submit your blog post once you write it, then they will respond to you with a coupon code for your free cards!

Whew! I’m glad some people have had to wait longer because it’s Sunday now and I still haven’t heard! 😦 Maybe because it’s the weekend? Or maybe they look one look at my blog and said “Oh heeeellllllll no!” haha.
